Makeup Eraser

Like all of the other beauty bloggers I have watched, I was skeptical at first!  I mean, a pink cloth, that removes all of your makeup.  No chemicals, no residue, nothing but water and this microfiber cloth.  Too good to be true?

What is it?

The MakeUp Eraser is a blend of polyester silk fibre.  It is in the form of an elongated cloth with longer fibers on one side and shorter fibers on the other.

How does it work?

It seems that when you add hot water to this cloth, it melts the makeup and the microfibers whisk it away from your skin.  The fibers of the cloth also hold on to the makeup it picks up, so it doesn’t just smear it around on your face.

My Experience:

I took this on a trip with me.  I was gone for about a week.  I didn’t wash it first (oops!)  I just tossed it into the bathtub while it was filling up.  It did shed a little, so I guess that is the reason for the washing.  Anyway, it does work.  I used the short fiber side to work in the hot water and the longer fiber side to rub the makeup off.

There are pros and cons to this and it has everything to do with the way you use it.  I have seen some videos where the girls are rubbing around their eyes pretty hard.  I wouldn’t do this for a few reasons.  Although this does remove waterproof mascara, you will also lose eyelashes.  Mine are just now growing back! Also, rubbing too hard on your skin is going to stretch the skin and age you.  Don’t be harsh around your eyes!

Also beware that you need to throw this in the washing machine once or twice a week or give it a good scrubbing at the sink with a cleanser that removes makeup.  It will get moldy and grow bacteria if you do not take care to avoid that.  I have two of them so I just change them out.

In the end, this is my go to washcloth for my face.  I still use mild cleansers to loosen the makeup around my eyes, and wipe everything away with this cloth.

Bottom line?  YES
